DOHA: The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) has confirmed that palm and herbal water (Liqah) in the local market produced by Al Jaser factory in Bahrain is safe for consumption.
The product used as a natural remedy is made of palm tree flowers, pollen and buds.
In a statement yesterday, the SCH scotched rumours circulating on social media that the product is contaminated.
SCH said it had conducted laboratory tests on samples collected from local market. The tests have shown that the product is free from contamination and does not pose any danger to human health.
Rumours that spread across the Gulf before Eid Al Adha led to suspension of sale of the product in Kuwait, the statement said, quoting a senior official of the factory. The official said rumours had helped the company prove that its product is safe, after reports by health authorities in Bahrain and now in Qatar. The Peninsula
