Doha, Qatar: The Qatari Basketball Federation has officially added American guard Brandon Goodwin, 28, to its senior national team roster ahead of the 31st FIBA Asia Cup, which will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from August 5 to 17, 2025. Sixteen Asian nations will compete in the tournament.

Goodwin, born on October 2, 1995, in Norcross, Georgia, stands 1.88 meters tall and plays both point guard and shooting guard. He began his college basketball journey at the University of Central Florida (UCF) before transferring to Florida Gulf Coast University, where he earned ASUN Conference Player of the Year honours in 2018.

He brings significant professional experience, having played in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets and Atlanta Hawks, along with stints in various international leagues. Goodwin is eligible to represent Qatar through naturalisation, in line with FIBA regulations that allow 1 naturalised player per national team roster.
