KPMG staff in Qatar recently took part in a number of charity events and initiatives to participate in the traditional Ramadan activity of giving to those less fortunate. Staff attended a silent auction, hosted by Rota. The Charity was raising money to provide access to education in Asia for children in need. A successful bid won KPMG a picture of a sidra tree taken by photographer Faisal Nassir. Several staff members attended another event called “Celebrating with Orphans” organised by Qatar Charity. At the event, staff gave away chocolates and small gifts to children.
A group of KPMG staff members handed out food parcels to labour camp workers as part of the company’s Ramadan giving initiative. Staff from across the firm’s audit, tax and advisory departments travelled to the camps in the industrial area to distribute food parcels.
Omar Mahmood, KPMG’s head of Corporate Social Responsibility said “One of KPMG’s core values is commitment to corporate citizenship and communities. Ramadan is a great time for us to demonstrate this by giving to those less fortunate. We are proud that our staff have given their time and to support these events and worthy causes.”
