Assistant FM discusses bilateral ties and Afghan, Ukraine situations with EU leaders

Brussels: Speaker of the National Assembly of the sisterly State of Kuwait H E Marzouq bin Ali Al Ghanim met yesterday in Brussels with Assistant Foreign Minister H E Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral cooperation and their joint efforts for the Schengen visa exemption. 

The Assistant Foreign Minister also met with Vice-President of the European Parliament H E Eva Kaili. 

They discussed the issue of exempting Qatari citizens from the Schengen visa, the latest developments in Afghanistan and the humanitarian situation in Ukraine. The Assistant Foreign Minister also met Chief Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of the European Council H E Simon Mordue. They reviewed relations between Qatar and the European Union, the file of exempting Qatari citizens from the Schengen visa, the latest developments in Afghanistan and the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.

The Assistant Foreign Minister also met with the Director General of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Migration and Home Affairs H E Monique Pariat.

Cooperation between Qatar and the European Union were reviewed, especially in the field of humanitarian aid, the file of exempting Qatari citizens from the Schengen visa. The latest developments in Afghanistan and the humanitarian situation in Ukraine were also discussed.

The meetings were attended by Ambassador of Qatar to the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Malki.
