DOHA: The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), dedicated to building the future of education, has announced a partnership with EdTech Europe, a leading education technology-focused conference platform in Europe.
WISE will participate in the 2015 EdTech Europe summit in London on June 18. WISE delegates will lead a panel discussion ‘Edtech: Local Implementation Versus Global Scaling’ and showcase innovative projects currently part of WISE Accelerator programme. The event will showcase Qatar Foundation’s (QF) efforts towards global education as part of its commitment to the knowledge economy and support Qatar National Vision 2030.
EdTech Europe encourages exchange of innovative ideas to find ways to improve education worldwide. The multi-track event brings together executive-level investors, innovators and industry influencers from the European and global education technology sector, including foundations, higher-education organisations, policy makers, and private sector thought leaders. WISE will also chair a panel discussion examining the challenges of designing EdTech projects that consider both issues of local implementation of education technologies, as well as global concerns around scalability, recommendations for growing a business, and the need to assure high-standard learning outcomes.
A few of start-up businesses from the inaugural cohort of Accelerator programme will be invited to participate in showcase. Representatives of leading accelerators, incubators, and other start-up businesses will have the opportunity to engage with over 500 delegates.
“The partnership between WISE and EdTech Europe creates a great opportunity for our respective communities of education thought leaders and innovators to connect, exchange ideas, and inspire one another.
“Such dynamic collaboration is the key to building solid foundations for tomorrow’s education today,” said Stavros N Yiannouka, CEO, WISE.
The event will mark the first collaboration in an ongoing partnership between WISE and EdTech Europe. At the WISE Summit 2015 in November in Doha, EdTech Europe will lead a Venture Capital and Education session.
