DOHA: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced temporary closure of a section of the road on Route 55, also known as Temporary Truck Route (TTR) from today.
One lane will be closed for a stretch of 1km. The closure will be carried in two phases.
Phase 1 will be implemented from today until June 13 and involves the closure of the outer northbound lane and the inner southbound lane. Traffic will be diverted to the remaining open lane.

The closure is for construction of the T-Junction that will connect Route 55 to the road leading to the New Doha Port as part of the works on the Orbital Highway and Truck Route Project.
Meanwhile, Ashghal will close part of Dareen Street heading towards Airport street from Saturday until November 30. The other direction of the street will remain open to traffic.
This is to facilitate micro tunnelling works to build a new pumping station, Ashghal said.
Motorists coming from Dareen street towards Airport street can take a right onto Al Aasha street and continue until Um Al Maradem street then turn left to reach Airport street. The Peninsula
