Doha: A three-day workshop organised by the Ministry of Justice’s Centre for Legal and Judicial Studies in association with the US Department of Justice probed issues concerning e-Crimes.
Participants discussed cyber, banking and financial crimes at the workshop titled ‘Crimes and Evidence’ that ended yesterday.
Stressing the importance of the workshop, Maryam Yusuf Arab, Director of the centre, said, “The world has become a global village with innovative information technology. Combatting e-Crimes is vital since banking and financial transactions are universally done via the Internet, payments are done by electronically.”
Qatar has taken steps to combat cyber-crime vide Law No. 14 of 2014 which covers all e-Crimes through fraudulent cards, emails and intellectual property rights infringements. QNA
