Islamabad: An earthquake of 5.2 magnitude struck Islamabad, Peshawar, and several areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in northwestern Pakistan.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the epicenter was located along the border region between Tajikistan and China, at a depth of 125 kilometers.
No casualties or material damage have been reported so far.
Pakistan experiences frequent seismic activity due to its location along the boundary of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.
