Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario is scheduled to go on a leave of absence this month in order to undergo a short but “long overdue” medical procedure overseas, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
“(Secretary Del Rosario) plans to go abroad sometime this month to undergo a medical procedure which has long been overdue,” DFA Spokesperson Charles Jose told reporters in a press briefing. “He expect to be back to work in a few weeks time.”
According to Jose, the medical procedure has to do with Del Rosario’s lower back.
“He has been complaining about it for months now,” the department spokesperson revealed.
Jose further said that the foreign affairs chief has yet to decide where he will be seeking the said medical procedure, “but definitely it will be abroad.”
