Deaf and mute people protest in Lahore

LAHORE: Deaf and mute people from across Punjab are protesting at Mall Road seeking more rights. 

The protesters are demanding quote for government jobs, exemption from taxes and the right to be issued driving licenses.

The protest has led to severe traffic jams from Regal Chowk to Faisal Chowk. There is bumper to bumper traffic on several roads of the city.  

Police and security personnel have been placed on alert to avoid an untoward incident.
