Doha, Qatar: The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) yesterday announced a series of major milestones and achievements planned for 2025, reflecting its continued commitment to expanding healthcare services, strengthening quality standards, and enhancing community well-being across Qatar.

PHCC’s 2025 milestones published on its social media reflect a continued journey of organisational excellence, quality improvement, and strengthened healthcare services for the community. PHCC currently operates a nationwide network of 31 health centers supported by more than 8,000 medical and administrative staff. Of these, seven centers provide dedicated wellness services, while 21 health centers operate during weekends to improve accessibility. In addition, 13 Urgent Care Centers offer round-the-clock services, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

As part of its healthcare service development, PHCC has recorded significant growth in virtual healthcare consultations. More than 83 percent of patients praised the ease of accessing doctors from home, while 80 percent confirmed that their health concerns were adequately addressed through remote consultations.

During the year, PHCC also launched the Cancer Survivorship Care Clinic and introduced the Ophthalmology Consultation and Referral Line, further expanding specialized care services. PHCC’s 2025 agenda includes hosting several major conferences and events. In April 2025, the First Occupational Health and Safety Conference will be held under the theme “Fostering Occupational Health and Safety in Health Care Settings.”

In November 2025, PHCC will organise the 6th International Primary Health Care Conference, expected to attract around 1,000 participants, under the theme “Inspiring Tomorrow: The Power of Collaboration in Primary Health Care.” This will be followed in December 2025 by the First Primary Care Arab Nursing and Midwifery Symposium.

The corporation has also achieved notable recognition in awards and leadership. PHCC completed the field assessment for the second cycle of the Government Excellence Award in October 2025 and secured first place in the health sector during the National Cyber Drill “Zero Hour.” It received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority and gained pioneering recognition for integrating Microsoft 365 Copilot into the healthcare sector as part of its digital transformation efforts.

Further honours include recognition during the Government Procurement Plan Forum 2026, a Certificate of Appreciation from the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), and the Organizational Excellence Certificate in Quality Improvement and Collaborative Capacity Building from the Health Standards Organisation (HSO) and Accreditation Canada.

In the area of quality and accreditation, all 31 PHCC laboratories were accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for the third consecutive time, with no observations or deficiencies. PHCC continues to operate the largest network of CAP-accredited laboratories outside the United States.

PHCC also led several nationwide health and awareness campaigns. The National Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Campaign 2025–2026 made vaccines available at all 31 health centers, with more than 26,000 doses administered to date. The Back-to-School Campaign, held under the theme “Together Towards Improving the Quality of Students’ Life,” reached more than 70,000 students and 1,000 parents. Additionally, the “ASNANI” School Oral Health Program reached over 31,000 students across 152 schools. To strengthen institutional collaboration, PHCC signed Memoranda of Understanding with the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies and AMAN Center, aimed at supporting research, training, and community initiatives. These partnerships contribute to the development of health services, enhanced public health outcomes, and strengthened institutional capacity.

In community services, PHCC remains the sole entity authorised to issue medical fitness certificates for Hajj pilgrims in Qatar. This service has been enhanced through a transition to an electronic system, ensuring greater accuracy and efficiency, with results linked directly to the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.
