Doha, Qatar: The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) concluded the 6th International Primary Health Care Conference (IPHCC) with a grand ceremony honoring the winners of its research and medical competitions, following a resounding success across scientific, organizational, and community levels.

The ceremony was attended by PHCC Managing Director and Conference Chairperson, Dr. Mariam Ali Abdul Malik, alongside a number of officials and senior administrators, in recognition of the efforts of research teams, outstanding projects, and participating university students.

Also present were Assistant Managing Director of Administration and Corporate Services at PHCC, Musallam Mubarak Al Nabit and Assistant Managing Director of Strategy and Business Development at PHCC, Dr. Mohammed Ghaith Al Kuwari.

Assistant Managing Director of Quality and Workforce Development at PHCC, Dr. Zelaikha Al Wahedi and Assistant Managing Director of Operations and Clinical Affairs, Dr. Samya Al Abdullah also participated in distributing awards and certificates to the winners.

The Corporation hosted the 2025 Quality Improvement Celebration Awards, reaffirming PHCC’s commitment to elevating health services. A total of 72 projects were evaluated over two stages, and the best were selected based on rigorous criteria.

The project “Right Care in the Right Place” from Al Wakra Health Center won the award for Best Project in Corporate Excellence and Efficiency, in recognition of its role in improving service efficiency and facilitating patients’ access to appropriate care. The award was received by the Center Manager, Dr. Ameena Ibrahim Fakhro,

In the category of Enhancing Clinical Outcomes, the project “Early Detection of Anemia in 12-Month-Old Children” from Omar Bin Al Khattab Health Center won, acknowledging its contribution to promoting children’s health through prevention and early detection. The award was received by Dr. Mariam Al Fadala, the Center Manager.

The award for Best Project in Patient Services Development went to “Optimal Utilization of Antenatal Care Appointments” at Airport Health Center, in recognition of its efforts to improve the patient experience and enhance the quality of care provided to expectant mothers. The award was received by Dr. Mariam Al Jaber, the Center Manager.

In the Community Engagement category, the scientific poster by Mahmoud Elthoukhy from Al Wakra Health Center took first place, followed by Pinky Domingo in second, and Dr. Taiba Silwan Aboud in third, with the award on her behalf received by Dr. Rand Aboud.

The 6th IPHCC proudly welcomed around 65 students from various health disciplines, representing three leading academic institutions: Qatar University, Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar, and University of Doha for Science and Technology.

The student volunteer team emerged as a key factor in the conference’s success, handling registration, guest reception, session coordination, and logistical support, ensuring a professional organizational experience. In a gesture of appreciation, the conference honored the student team in partnership with the Interprofessional Education Student Association (IPESA), with the award received by Abdullah Al Emadi, President of IPESA.
