Doha: Qatar’s total broad money supply (M2) reached QR678bn in August 2022, recording an annual increase of 12.4 percent compared to the same period last year (August 2021), according to the 104th issue of the Qatar Monthly Statistics bulletin released by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) yesterday.
On the other hand, cash equivalents including commercial bank deposits stood at QR973bn in August 2022, showing an annual increase of 1.8 percent compared to QR956bn registered in the corresponding period last year (August 2021).
The report also showed a monthly rise in the value of shares traded during August 2022 by 102.0 percent, compared to the previous month (July 2022). As for the numbers and values of properties sold, they increased at a positive monthly change rate of 22.4 percent and 31.4 percent, respectively, compared to July 2022. However, they decreased at an annual rate of 18.1 percent and 12.1 percent, respectively when compared to August 2021.
