Doha: Al Wakra Municipality and Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) held a coordination meeting on combating climate change.
Within the framework of the joint cooperation signed between Al Wakra Municipality and Qatar Foundation, Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy (GCoM) team held a coordination meeting to share information on the calculation of greenhouse gases in Al Wakra.
The meeting was attended by Eng Suha Mahmoud, Hessa Al Abdullah and Eng Ibrahim Al Sheikh from Al Wakra Municipality and Mohamed Ali Hashem, Head of Supply Section, and Eng Salma Al Shammari from Kahramaa.
Engineer Suha Mahmoud, project manager, said that the meeting comes in support of the Ministry of Municipality’s sustainable development strategy and in support of the Al Wakra file, which prioritises environmental sustainability.
She said that this step will be the beginning of the formation of a work mechanism by Al Wakra Municipality to reduce carbon emissions, especially in this challenging period due to climate change.
