Doha: Ministry of Commerce and Industry carried out inspection campaigns on several retail outlets in different regions across Qatar and reported 49 violations for displaying and selling goods with slogans that violate Islamic values, customs, and traditions.
Ministry said that the inspections were carried out with the aim of monitoring the extent to which suppliers abide by Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection and Circular No. 2 of 2021 regarding refraining from circulating goods bearing slogans and symbols that violate Islamic values.
The ministry confirmed that it will be firm in the face of anyone who neglects to fulfill his obligations under the Consumer Protection Law.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry urged all consumers to report any abuses or violations and receive complaints and suggestions through the call center 16001 and the Ministry's social media accounts.
