Al Wakrah Municipality holds food safety workshop

In order to increase awareness among employees at food outlets, Health Monitoring Section at Al Wakrah Municipality yesterday organised a workshop about food safety for restaurants’ employees.
The workshop discussed the importance of the role of employees while preparing food to ensure food safety. It highlighted that food safety can be guaranteed if employees follow correct guidelines.
Engineer Khaled Al Saleh, food Specialist at health monitoring section in his presentation focused on how to identify food unfit for consumption.
He also added that food considered as harmful to human health if it contains toxic materials or in case sold or circulated by a person with an infectious disease. If chemical analysis proved that there is a change in the contents of the food item - either in taste or the smell, if it expired, and if it prepared in unhealthy conditions.  
To ensure and guarantee food safety, the workshop participants were advised to maintain personal hygiene especially hands, to separate between the fresh cooked food and uncooked one (Fresh food). It was also advised to cook the food well, and store in appropriate temperature and to use clean water.
