Geneva: Qatar called on the international community to lift immunity of Israel, refer the file of its aggression on Gaza Strip to International Criminal Court (ICC) and ensure implementation of recommendations of International Commission of Inquiry report on Israeli aggression last year to hold its officials accountable and prosecuted for their crimes.
This came in the speech by Faisal bin Abdullah Al Henzab, Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, during an interactive dialogue with the UN Independent Inquiry Committee on the Israeli aggression on occupied Palestinian territories, especially the Strip last year.
He expressed Qatar’s denunciation of the information in the report regarding Israel’s refusal to cooperate with the committee and said it affirmed that Israel is obstructing the investigation to cover up war crimes mentioned in the report, crimes against humanity and violations of human rights of the Palestinian people.
The report represents an explicit condemnation of Israeli occupation, and a document to activate legal and judicial aspects of prosecution of war criminals, he added.QNA
