Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of congratulations to Italian President Sergio Mattarella on his country’s National Day.
Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani also sent a similar cable to Mattarella.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani also sent a congratulatory cable to Mattarella.
Paris: Foreign Minister
H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah yesterday led Qatar’s delegation to a ministerial meeting on terrorism and mini-ministerial meeting on Syria taking place in Paris.
He also attended a luncheon banquet French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius hosted in honour of heads of participant delegations. Issues discussed at the banquet included stability, safe return of refugees and internally displaced, and protection of cultural heritage.
Unesco Director-General Irina Bokova and UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres also attended the banquet.
Doha: Delegations from GCC parliaments yesterday arrived in Doha along with a delegation from the GCC general-secretariat to participate in the second meeting of the GCC parliament committee in the legislative field, which begins today and continues for two days. QNA
