Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co. WLL (AAB), exclusive distributor of Toyota and Lexus in Qatar, recently organised the 6th AAB Kids  U16 Chess Tournament, in cooperation with the Qatar Chess Association (QCA).  The Tournament ran from April 27 to 29. It was open to all youth in the age group of 6-16 years from all over Qatar and surrounding region.  
This year’s tournament was made significant with cooperation from Qatar Scientific Club (QSC) as Venue Partner.  The first two days of the competition were held at the Qatar Scientific Club whilst the finals were held at the Al Abdulghani Tower - Toyota Showroom.  The tournament was played in nine round Swiss System.  
. Mohammed Al Medaihki, Qatar Grand Master and General Secretary of QCA along with Hamad Al Tamimi, QCA Executive Director were present at the prize distribution ceremony along with Hareb Al Jabri, Executive Manager of Qatar Scientific Club.  Yazan Mustafa, COO – C & I Division; represented AAB Management.
The winners of the AAB Kids’ Chess 2017 were–
Champion Salih Al Hor (Qatar), first runner up Jaya Surya and second runner up    Bilal Ahmed Moosa(both from India).
Winners of the Best Qatari Boys and Girls: Best Qatari Boy first prize Ali Al Sadi, second prize Abdulla Al Ansari. Best Qatar Girl: first prize Noor Al Badr and second prize Fatima Hussain.
The AAB kids’ chess tournament is one of AAB’s corporate social responsibility programmes in promoting human development. The game of chess encourages analytical thinking and helps build strength and maturity in the thinking process of the young children playing.   A thinking community builds a strong foundation for the future.
