Fourteen erring outlets were closed for a period between 5 to 30 days last month in total 1894 inspection raids conducted by Health monitoring section at Doha Municipality.
The municipality inspectors also registered 15 violations. The violators were found violating Law No. 8 of 1990 on regulation of human food control. The Meat Unit at central market checked 73422 whole slaughtered sheep, 543 cows and 528 camels.
The unit also destroyed 6 tonnes of meat unfit for human consumption. The central market unit also checked 14872 tones of vegetables and fruits and destroyed 56 tonnes unfit for human consumption.
The Complaints Team of Health Monitoring Section received 84 complaints last month. The municipality has urged people to report about food violations and contact the municipality on the number 184 or through the official social media platforms of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
Meanwhile, Umm Salal Municipality in collaboration with public cleaning department in the first quarter of this year removed 9910 tonnes of domestic waste and 10,908 tonnes of mixed wastes, 1984 abandoned tyres and 390 dead animals.
The insect and rodent fighting unit at the municipality implemented 1881 electronic requests for fighting insects and 94 requests for fighting rodents.
Also the public parks section planted 105 trees on public roads and 4100 seasonal flowers seedlings. The public parks section of Al Khor and Al Dakhira Municipality organised a visit of students of Abdullah bin Ali Al Misnad school to Al Khor park.
