UAE Air Defenses intercept missiles and drones amid ongoing attacks

Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has intercepted a fresh wave of missile and drone attack launched from Iran, the country's defense ministry announced.

A ministry statement on Friday said the air defense systems shot down incoming 18 ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles and 47 drones.

The statement added that since the start of the attacks, Emirati air defenses have dealt with a total of 475 ballistic missiles, 23 cruise missiles and 2,085 drones.

The ministry added that the incidents have resulted in the deaths of two members of the armed forces while on duty, as well as a civilian contractor.

Nine other civilians were killed, and 203 people were injured, with wounds ranging from minor to severe.
