Syrian orphans selected by RAF for its programme.
Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has launched a programme to sponsor 215 orphans of displaced families in Rif Halab, Hamah, Idlib cities of Syria at a cost of QR500,000.
The project called “Rahma” (Mercy) was financed by people from Qatar in terms of donation.
The beneficiaries will receive cash from Al Umri orphan care association, a partner of RAF in Syria, on a monthly basis for nine months. The money will be spent on their daily expenditure, education and health.
A field survey was conducted to assess the situation of orphans in collaboration with the association. Based on the findings of the survey, it was decided to provide them financial support within Mercy scheme. The scheme is meant to cover Syrian orphans displaced inside the country and those sheltering in neighbouring countries.
Under the scheme, the beneficiaries will receive all type of support they needed. RAF wanted through this scheme and many other similar programmes to bring smiles on the faces of orphans who lost their parents due to war in the country.
