Food outlets found violating health rules in Doha

A number of food outlets were caught recently by Health Monitoring Section at Doha Municipality for violating health regulations, during a massive inspection campaign.

The erring outlets include a restaurant in Al-Sadd storing food at improper temperature, in addition to storing cooked food with meat, fresh poultry exposing the former to contamination.

A number of inspectors and veterinarians specialising in food control participated in the inspection campaign.

The municipality inspectors also caught another restaurant selling expired food in addition to a supermarket storing food in unhealthy conditions.

Legal actions was taken against the violators for violating Law No. 8 of 1990 on regulation of human food control.

To guarantee consumer safety, the Health Monitoring Section said that it continued inspection raids against food outlets.

Meanwhile, Insect and Rodent Control Unit of the Municipality of Al Khor and Al Dakhira last month received 215 requests for fighting different kind of insects and 27 requests for fighting rodents.
