Washington: US presidential candidates Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders criticized the US administration's decision to carryout and airstrike that killed commander of Al Quds forces Qassem Soleimani, warning that it could lead to escalation and a potentially disastrous war.
Former vice president Joe Biden said in a statement, conceded that the leader of Irans elite Quds Force deserved to face justice, but warned, "President Trump just tossed a stick of dynamite into a tinderbox."

Biden added in his statement that US President Donald Trump owes the American people and explanation for the provocation, saying it endangers more American lives and edges the region closer towards another war.
For his part, Bernie Sanders said that "Trumps dangerous escalation brings us closer to another disastrous war in the Middle East that could cost countless lives and trillions more dollars."
Sanders said that Trump promised to end endless wars, but criticized today's action as putting the US on a path to another war in the Middle-East.
