Doha, Qatar: In a bid to foster a sense of social responsibility, initiative, and belonging among young people, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by its Human Resources Department, participated for the first time in the fifth edition of the “Little Employee” Initiative.

The programme is organised in cooperation with the Qatar Career Development Centre (QCDC), a member of Qatar Foundation, and aims to introduce students to the government work environment, develop life and career skills, and deepen their understanding of administrative and service roles in national institutions.

This year’s initiative welcomed 18 sons and daughters of ministry employees, who were distributed among several departments, including the Financial and Administrative Affairs Department, Planning, Quality and Innovation Department, Information Systems Department, General Directorate of Endowments, Human Resources Department, and the Dawah and Religious Guidance Department. The participants had the opportunity to experience real-life work settings, gaining insight into the daily responsibilities and duties of their parents.

Assistant Director of the Human Resources Department Mohammed Abdulwahab Al-Shibani, highlighted the ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of work and instil values of responsibility and national loyalty in younger generations.

“The ‘Little Employee’ initiative aligns with the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030, contributing to the development of an informed generation that appreciates institutional work and the societal contributions of their parents,” he said. “The ministry places great importance on investing in people, as they are the key engine of development.”

Head of the Training and Administrative Development Section Salwa Abdullah Al-Badr Al-Mutawa, emphasized the ministry’s commitment to supporting human, social, and institutional development. She noted that allowing children to engage in a hands-on workplace experience helps enhance their self-confidence, develop essential skills, and introduce them to future career paths that contribute to national development. “The initiative also strengthens family bonds within the work environment and fosters a culture of inspiration and positive communication between employees and their children,” she added.

From the QCDC side, Mohammed Ali Al-Yafei, Head of Programmes and Services, stressed that the “Little Employee” initiative serves as an important educational and social platform that introduces children to the concept of professional work and community responsibility from a young age. He described the ministry’s participation as a valuable addition due to the diverse and complementary nature of its administrative, service, and religious activities.
