CAIRO: A car bombing killed three civilians in Egypt’s restive Sinai Peninsula on Sunday, according to a local security source. A bomb-laden government vehicle blew up in the northern Sinai city of Arish, the source told Anadolu Agency. “Three civilians were killed and three others injured in the bombing,” the source added anonymously due to restrictions on speaking to media. Egyptian authorities have yet to comment on the attack, for which no group has yet claimed responsibility. On Saturday, five policemen were killed and nine others injured in two militant attacks in northern Sinai. Egypt has been battling an insurgency in the Sinai Peninsula amid militant attacks that mainly targeted security forces.
