Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has concluded its 2026 summer training programme “Professional Generation in Awqaf”, aimed at developing national talents and enhancing their readiness for the government labour market.

Organised by the Human Resources Department, the programme, held from July 5 to 30, brought together 70 students from secondary schools and universities, including 35 male and 35 female students, as part of the ministry’s efforts to invest in youth capabilities and equip them with professional and practical skills.

The closing ceremony honoured the participating students, as well as supervisors from the Administrative Training and Development Section at the Human Resources Department and representatives from various ministry departments that hosted the trainees during the programme.

The initiative provided students with exposure to the government work environment and enabled them to gain practical experience through training, field visits, and participation in applied projects across different departments.

The programme was structured around three key areas of exploration, experience, and participation,  allowing students to understand institutional work, develop workplace skills, and gain insight into future career requirements.

Students were trained across six ministry departments: the Mosques Department, Zakat Affairs Department, Human Resources Department, Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, General Endowment Department, and Public Relations and Communication Department.

During the final ceremony, participants presented their experiences, highlighting the skills they acquired, including report preparation, electronic archiving, secretarial tasks, meeting management, computer applications, and institutional communication skills.

They also showcased applied projects and development ideas designed to transform their learning into practical outcomes that could contribute to improving administrative procedures and the work environment.

Assistant Director of the Human Resources Department Rashed Al Marri praised the students for making use of their summer vacation to acquire practical skills and professional knowledge, commending their commitment, seriousness, and active participation throughout the programme.

“The ministry was keen to provide an integrated training programme that balances knowledge and practical application, helping students build skills and capabilities that prepare them for professional life in the future,” Al Marri said.

He added that the programme enables students to integrate effectively into state institutions after completing their education by providing them with a better understanding of workplace requirements and professional practices.

Al Marri stressed that the initiative reflects the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs’ commitment to supporting the human development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030 through preparing a qualified generation capable of assuming responsibility and contributing to the country’s development.

“The summer training programme represents a strategic investment in national talents,” he said, noting that it helps instil a culture of work and productivity among young people, strengthens their connection with government institutions, supports Qatarisation objectives, and prepares them to play active roles in future national development.
