Katara to resume summer camp activities on Sunday

Doha, Qatar: The Katara Summer Camp activities for the third batch will commence on Sunday. According to Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, since it started two weeks back, the camp received a great turnout of participants.

Katara General Manager, Prof Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti visited the headquarters of camp yesterday where he delivered a quick lecture. The camp will run until August 15.

The event found a great turnout from the participants and won wide praises from parents and guardians for the benefit it provides in various educational, recreational and sports fields.

Katara is keen for the participating children to experience an atmosphere of interest and fun through lectures and training workshops provided by the participating parties in the camp, namely, the Ministry of Interior represented by the General Administration of Civil Defense, the General Administration for Drug Control, the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, the Qatari Red Crescent, the Al Jazeera Media Institute, the Nomas Center, and the Shooting Club, in addition to to field visits to the Al Thuraya Planetarium, the Al Qannas Association and the Katara Museum of Traditional Bearings.

At the end of the second week, the participants visited the Al Thuraya Planetarium and watched a 3D movie entitled “The Astronaut”.

They got acquainted with the parts of the dome and obtained information that enriched their knowledge about the universe and astronomy. This is in addition to the training participants received on first aid and fire and accident safety methods.
