DOHA: Many government and private institutions hosted Garangao — a traditional event for children held on the 14 day of Ramadan to mark the halfway point of the fasting month.
Children were encouraged to knock at the doors of each house in ‘mock’ neighbourhoods.
They walked around neighbourhoods, singing traditional songs and received gifts and bags of sweets from elders. They also met residents who told stories.
