Doha: The State Cabinet in its regular session yesterday was briefed on programmes, plans and mechanisms established by ministries to implement mandates and directives included in the Emir’s speech at the opening of the 43rd Ordinary Session of the Advisory Council.
It decided that competent authorities will take action to follow up on implementation of these programmes, plans and mechanisms.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at the Emiri Diwan.
It approved Cabinet draft decisions amending the organisation of some administrative units and creating some at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Transport and specifying their terms of reference.
It approved a Cabinet draft decision to form an audit committee on information technology purchases, and approved a draft decision by the Minister of Communication and Information Technology relating to fees for registering Qatari Internet domain ‘DOHA’. It gave approval for talks in air transport field with Kosovo’s Civil Aviation Authority.
The Cabinet took decisions after reviewing an Advisory Council recommendation relating to a draft law on births and deaths records, and a memo by the Foreign Minister and Head of Qatar Committee for Alliance of Civilisations on the first report on implementation of Qatar’s plan for alliance of civilisations (2014-2016).
The plan includes programmes and activities to achieve goals of the alliance of civilisations and those organised during the first year of the plan to achieve its objectives.
