Doha, Qatar: The General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior has renewed its call for users of electric scooters and electric bicycles to follow safety regulations and designated usage guidelines to protect themselves and enhance public safety.

In a public awareness campaign, the ministry stressed that adherence to safety rules helps prevent accidents and contributes to achieving higher standards of safety and security across the country.

Authorities urged riders to avoid using electric scooters on public roads and instead use designated paths and lanes specifically allocated for such vehicles. The ministry noted that responsible use of electric mobility devices is essential to reducing risks for riders and other road users.

As part of its safety recommendations, the Traffic Department advised riders to wear helmets correctly at all times, use reflective vests, and keep headlights switched on to improve visibility, particularly during low-light conditions.

The ministry also cautioned against speeding and emphasised the importance of riding only in designated lanes to ensure safe movement and minimise the likelihood of collisions.

The awareness message forms part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing efforts to promote traffic safety, encourage responsible road behaviour, and support the safe integration of electric mobility devices into Qatar’s transportation network.
