Beijing: The State of Qatar participated in the Government Ministerial Meeting for the Asia and Oceania region of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on anti-doping in sport (AORIM), hosted by the Chinese capital, Beijing, from June 1 to 3. The meeting brings together representatives of governments, national sports bodies, and relevant organisations.
Qatar’s delegation was headed by Abdulrahman bin Muslim Al Dosari, Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Youth. The participation reflects the State’s commitment to strengthening its active presence in international sporting forums and supporting global efforts aimed at safeguarding the integrity of sport and promoting the principles of fairness and transparency in athletic competitions.
During the meeting, Al Dosari reaffirmed Qatar’s firm commitment to supporting international initiatives and programmes designed to combat doping, emphasising the country’s belief in the importance of preserving the noble values of sport. He noted that Qatar attaches great importance to anti-doping efforts through the development of relevant legislative frameworks and national policies, as well as the enhancement of awareness and educational programmes targeting athletes and technical and administrative personnel.
