Doha, Qatar: In its ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe and smooth Hajj for Qatari pilgrims, the Communication and Support Unit of the Qatar Hajj Mission recently held a vital coordination meeting.

This extensive gathering, attended by officials and representatives from Qatari Hajj campaigns, focused on the intricate details of the pilgrim transfer plan to the holy sites. The goal was to establish the most effective strategies for seamless movement and pilgrim safety, particularly given the anticipated crowds and rising temperatures.

The transfer process via the Al-Mashaer Train was meticulously reviewed. The journey, which spans from Arafat Station 2, through Muzdalifah 2, and concludes at Mina 2, received particular attention.

A key directive was the creation of a detailed, independent plan for each Hajj campaign (operator), all while adhering to the Mission’s overarching framework. Furthermore, the discussion heavily emphasised the critical need to provide pilgrims with essential supplies during transit. This includes foldable chairs, ample water, and umbrellas to guarantee their comfort and safety, especially for the elderly and those with disabilities.

Head of the Communication and Support Unit Dr. Issa Saleh Al-Hur urged campaigns to prohibit pilgrims from heading out to throw the Jamarat between 10am and 4pm. This crucial measure aims to prevent heat exhaustion during the hottest part of the day, with Dr. Al-Har reiterating that pilgrim safety remains the Mission’s highest priority.

Following the discussion, a practical field visit was conducted to observe the transfer operation in action. This included campaign officials, Communication and Support Unit members, and representatives from the dedicated transfer company. This hands-on preview was designed to familiarize all parties with the operational plan in advance, thereby ensuring its flawless execution.

Dr. Al-Hur further elaborated on the 24/7 operations of the Communication and Support Unit, highlighting its dedication to providing immediate assistance to pilgrims.
