PARIS: The third edition of Qatari arts exhibition kicked off here today at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) headquarters.
The seven-day event is organized by the Department of Visual Arts at the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Vice Chairperson of Qatar Museums Sheikh Hassan bin Mohammed bin Ali Al Thani, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to UNESCO Ambassador Ali Zainal, a number of Arab and foreign diplomats in Paris, UNESCO officials, as well as a number of Qatari artists participating in the exhibition.
The exhibition is showcasing among several artistic works, varied creations of contemporary Arabic calligraphy by a group of Qatari artists.
The Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage, HE Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari said in a speech delivered on his behalf by the Director of the Visual Arts Department, Hanadi Al Darwish that the exhibition offers a visual culture of the State of Qatar, through some artistic works that reflect Qatar environment heritage and diversity.
