Doha: The Doha Singers gave the first of two performances of From Broadway to Doha at the Grand Hyatt leaving the audience shouting for more.
The choir, directed by Laura Dziubaniuk and accompanied by Natalia Bruma, delivered an energetic and enthralling performance of crowd-pleasers including music from Cabaret, Les Miserables, Singin’ in the Rain and the Sound of Music before closing the first half with a spine-tingling rendition of Phantom of the Opera.
During the second half, the audience was treated to some mouth-watering solo performances from Natalia Bruma, Anneliese Bennett, Sari Siltaniemi, Ousama Itani, Maud Daniel, and the crowd’s favourite, Ngako Keuni, who was given a standing ovation for his moving and powerful performance of Le Temps des Cathedrales.
The choir finished their programme with a choral suite from West Side Story that included a selection of the musical’s most popular tunes.
The Doha Singers will sing their final performance of “From Broadway to Doha” at 7pm on Friday at the College of the North Atlantic’s Dr Latifah Al Houty Auditorium. Tickets are priced at QR75 and available on www.Q-Tickets.com.
