Doha: Portuguese Al Nassr footballer Cristiano Ronaldo’s time in Saudi Arabia may be coming to an end, as reported by online Catalan newspaper El Nacional.
Difficulties adapting to Arabian culture and the language barrier were cited as the two reasons Ronaldo was planning on leaving the Riyadh based club, said the paper.
According to the report, Ronaldo is keen on moving back to Spain, where he had spent the majority of his career playing for Spanish giants Real Madrid CF, winning many trophies and setting many personal records.
Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, is keen on having Ronaldo back in Madrid as mentioned by El Nacional, but not as a player.
Perez reportedly would rather Ronaldo come back as either a Real Madrid ambassador or to occupy some other role in the club’s organization.
Al Nassr are currently second in the ROSHN Saudi League behind leaders Al Ittihad, the latter being three points away at the top with a game-in-hand.
