Gulf Laboratories Association introduced at workshop

Qatar General Authority for Standards and Metrology yesterday organised a workshop to introduce Gulf Laboratories Association, in cooperation with the GCC Standardisation Organisation.
The workshop included presentations on GCC Standardisation Organisation its objectives, competencies and role in development of the Gulf infrastructure for quality, in addition to its most important achievements and strategy for 2016-2020.
It also included a presentation on GCC Accreditation Center and its services; and GCC accreditation mechanism, as well as a presentation on Gulf Laboratories Association in terms of its objectives, membership, terms and conditions and its work program during the current year.
The workshop was opened by Director of Standards and Metrology Department at Qatar General Authority for Standards and Metrology. Nawaf Al Mana who highlighted the important role of laboratories which require upgrading their competencies and abilities, and improving their performance and competition through the rehabilitation of their human resources, equipment and work procedures, in addition to the exchange of opinions and experiences regarding quality management in laboratories and accreditation under the umbrella of the Gulf Laboratories Association.
Secretary-General of GCC Standardisation Organisation Nabil bin Amin Al Mulla stressed the importance of the workshop to introduce Gulf Laboratories Association which has ambitious objectives in line with strategic vision of the member states aiming to develop the GCC quality infrastructure, improve efficiency and capabilities of the laboratories and improve their performance in order to obtain GCC accreditation, to be an effective tool in the service of the Gulf economic system.
