Moga --The family of 13-year-old Arshdeep Kaur who died after being pushed out of a bus here late Wednesday while resisting an alleged molestation bid has refused a postmortem and cremation. They are demanding registration of a case against Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, who owns Orbit Company, to which the bus belonged.
Arshdeep’s father Sukhdev Singh also demanded that the four accused arrested by the police be paraded in front of his wife, who witnessed the alleged molestation. “Police have till now not even shown them to us for identification,” Sukhdev Singh said. Arshdeep’s mother, who was also pushed out of the bus, is hospitalised.
For more than 48 hours now, the body of Arshdeep, who studied in Class VII of a government school in Moga’s Lande Ke village, has been lying in the mortuary of Civil Hospital, Moga.
Top officials, including Moga Deputy Commissioner P S Gill, Ferozepur range DIG Amar Singh Chahal, Moga SSP J S Khaira and IG P S Umranangal, held a closed-door meeting on Friday with Arshdeep’s family members.
