DOHA: Qatar is set to launch an opinion poll to understand the population related issues and challenges in the county. The information collected through the poll will help improve the decision making process for various public and private organizations with regard to population.
The poll, to be launched by the Permanent Population Committee (PPC), in cooperation with the statistics sector of the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, aims at collecting comprehensive information on Qatar’s population and issues, according to Qatar News Agency.
It will be comprise of different questions for measuring the knowledge of population on population problems facing Qatar's society and those facing the population policy.
The present opinion poll is considered one of the methodological assessment tools used by the PPC to assess the population policy's objectives, periodic goals, mechanisms, and the approaches adopted to reach these goals, after five years of the implementation of the programme of action of this policy. The assessment will also cover the activities of the PPC and the technical bureau.
The findings of the opinion poll and the findings of the other assessment tools will help in the advancement and update of the present population policy's programme of action in consistency with the ongoing changes occurring in the population reality of the state, so that it will comply with the latest developments and challenges in the area of the development and population that Qatar's society will encounter in the next five years.
The findings will also contribute to the achievement of better life for the population of Qatar, the ultimate goal of the population policy that stems from Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2011-2016.
