DOHA: A large number of Nepalese gathered at their country’s embassy here yesterday, a Friday, to collect their passports (both new and renewed ones).
The embassy is open from 12 noon to 2 pm on weekdays, as also on Fridays, to enable Nepalese nationals to collect their passports.
There is no passport delivery on Saturdays as the embassy is closed for the weekend.
Nitesh Sapkota, second secretary at the mission, said that the passport delivery service was made available on Fridays because most Nepalese workers had their weekly day off on this day and so come to the embassy to avail of the service.
On average the embassy issues and renews some 300 passports a day on weekdays and Fridays and delivers them to their holders, Sapkota said.THE PENINSULA
