To celebrate World Autism Day, Ooredoo’s HQ1 Tower joined many prominent companies across the world by turning its iconic tower blue last night.
World Autism Day, which takes place every year on April 2, aims to raise awareness on the issues and needs for people with autism.
To help raise the profile of the day, organisations and governments across the world light important buildings blue.
World Autism Day has been celebrated across the world for eight years and this year Ooredoo took to social media to encourage everyone in Qatar to take part by educating themselves on autism and the facilities across Qatar that offer support for people living with autism.
Speaking about the event, Manar Khalifa Al Muraikhi, Director of Community and Public Relations, Ooredoo Qatar, said: “We believe in celebrating diversity and serving the whole community. Raising awareness for important issues such as World Autism Day is a huge priority for us and we hope to support and highlight the work of Qatar’s amazing facilities and people.”
The company has also encouraged customers to share their photos of the special blue Ooredoo tower with the World Autism Day official hashtag #LIUB.
