Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) issued an advisory urging the public to adhere to a number of media guidelines.
QMC urged everyone to get their news from official sources and to avoid spreading rumors, as well as to avoid or sharing unverified video clips.
The Corporation stressed on verifying content before publishing or forwarding, and to continuously follow and keep up to date with official statements.
Qatar Media Corporation also emphasized not to film accident sites, not publish and circulate them, and to stay away from exaggeration or sensationalism. It also called on people to spread reassurance and awareness in their surroundings.
