Doha, Qatar: The Government Communications Office (GCO) has debunked false information circulating on social media regarding the current events in the country.
In a statement, the GCO clarified three specific pieces of misinformation being widely shared online.
It confirmed that reports claiming Doha International Airport sustained damage on March 1, 2026, are false. The Office explained that the circulated content actually pertains to the Industrial Area, where debris caused by shrapnel was contained through a prompt response by Civil Defense authorities.
The GCO also clarified that no food production facilities in Qatar have been struck, adding that the images being circulated in this context are not from Qatar. This clarification follows false claims alleging that Iranian drones had targeted a food production factory in the country.
Additionally, the GCO stated that the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel was not targeted. The clarification comes after inaccurate reports suggested the hotel had sustained damage.
In light of these clarifications, the Government Communications Office urged the public to rely solely on official sources for information and to refrain from circulating rumors.
