Doha, Qatar: The Amir, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received a phone call from the Prime Minister of the friendly Italian Republic, HE Giorgia Meloni.
At the outset of the call, HE the Italian Prime Minister inquired about the situation in the State of Qatar following the Iranian aggression, expressing her country’s condemnation of this aggression and affirming Italy’s solidarity with the State of Qatar and its people under these exceptional circumstances.
HH the Amir expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to HE the Italian Prime Minister for her genuine sentiments and the solidarity she conveyed, praising the close relations that unite the two friendly countries.
Both sides stressed the importance of working to de-escalate tensions and prioritising the language of political dialogue and the diplomatic track as the best way to contain the crisis and safeguard the security and stability of the region.
