Washington: Texas Senator Ted Cruz has won the Republican caucuses in Alaska by a slim margin over Donald Trump, US TV networks reported.

It was Cruz's third victory in the Super Tuesday primary and caucus votes in a dozen states against seven wins for Trump.

Alaska in the far west was the last state to report its results. With more than 95 percent of precincts reporting, about 36 percent of the votes went to Cruz and 34 percent to Trump, according to CNN, NBC and other news outlets.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio finished third with about 15 percent of the votes.
