Kabul: A 5.3-magnitude earthquake shook northern Afghanistan Saturday, with tremors felt as far south as Kabul.
The US Geological Survey stated that the epicentre of the earthquake was some 69 kilometres south-southeast of the city of Faizabad, the capital of Afghanistan's northern province of Badakhshan.
A 7.5-magnitude earthquake in the same province caused significant damages and killed upwards of 400 people in Afghanistan and Pakistan in October, dpa reported.
So far, there are no reports of damages or casualties from the latest quake.
