Doha,Qatar: The Hajj and Umrah Affairs Department will embark on the electronic selection process for the shortlisted applicants to perform the Hajj pilgrimage for the 1447 AH season, starting from Dec. 2, 2025, the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has announced.
The ministry highlighted that the process is part of regulatory procedures that aim to facilitate the provision of services to pilgrims of the State of Qatar and ensure transparency in the selection process.
The department clarified that it will relay SMS messages to those who have been shortlisted so they can further finalize the registration process at the accredited Hajj operators and reach out to them directly, stressing that non-compliance with the deadline will lead to the cancellation of the approval.
Applicants who receive approval SMS should complete the registration procedures at one of the 24 pilgrimage operators within seven days from the date of approval receipt via the website: www.hajj.gov.qa, to avoid risking cancellation of this approval following the expiration of this deadline, the department highlighted.
It further explained that during the registration process, applicants shall pay QAR 10,000 in advance, which will later be deducted from the total Hajj cost, in addition to signing the electronic contract to choose the operator they prefer through the online system.
The department indicated that this process is intended to ensure the registration is serious and help operators complete their organizational arrangements in a timely manner to ensure that top-notch services are provided to pilgrims.
The department clarified that this advance payment is not a registration fee, but rather part of the total Hajj cost, whose final value is determined according to the service level each operator provides in terms of accommodation and transportation.
This procedure, the department says, is intended to make sure that pilgrims genuinely desire to perform the Hajj pilgrimage and commit to the timetables, as well as the required procedures, offering operators the chance to plan and organize Hajj trips in a more efficient manner.
Accordingly, the department urged all shortlisted pilgrims to carefully review the prices and services those operators provide, which may have discrepancies in terms of residency, hospitality, and transportation, to ensure they select the best option.
It likewise called on those who may have queries or comments to directly dial the hotline (132) to receive support and responses to all questions related to the registration, selection, and service processes.
In addition, Awqaf pointed out that the quota allocated to the State of Qatar for this year's Hajj season amounts to 4,400 pilgrims, affirming that the electronic selection process is being implemented in full alignment with this quota and according to the established standards.
The current season witnesses additional upgrades in the electronic systems, as a new mechanism for online payment has been devised, which helps pilgrims pay the cost smoothly and leisurely based on the prices outlined by each operator, something that enhances the quality of services and streamlines procedures, Awqaf clarified.
It further pointed out that early registration has been opened based on the success of the previous two seasons, which enables operators to finalize their contracts early and provide the best and highest-quality services to Qatar's pilgrims.
The ministry suggested that these arrangements aim to enable pilgrims to perform Hajj in a streamlined and faithful atmosphere with the provision of top-notch amenities and services.
It asserted that close collaboration is ongoing with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, alongside the competent authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to achieve a successful Hajj season that meets the pilgrims' aspirations and epitomizes Awqaf's mission in serving pilgrims of the State of Qatar.
