Cairo: The Cairo International Calligraphy Forum 2025 will kick off on December 18th at the Cairo Opera House, under the theme "Peace Through Letters," with the participation of a distinguished group of calligraphers and artists from Arab and international countries.
The 11-day event aims to promote aesthetic awareness, reinforce Egyptian and Arab identity, and revive authentic heritage arts. It serves as an annual platform for exchanging expertise among creators, researchers, and calligraphers, showcasing artistic creativity in Arabic calligraphy, all within the framework of preserving the artistic and spiritual heritage of Arab and Islamic civilization.
The Cultural Development Fund, affiliated with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, explained in a statement today that this year's theme, "Peace Through Letters," will provide calligraphers with an opportunity to present their vision of how letters can play a vital role in spreading a message of peace to humanity.
This edition of the forum includes an Arabic calligraphy competition with its various categories, a general exhibition showcasing the works of honorees, guests of honor, and participants, an international symposium with the participation of leading Arab researchers and calligraphers, and specialized workshops aimed at developing skills and exchanging expertise among artists and calligraphers.
The forum awards monetary and honorary prizes in the fields of: traditional calligraphy, modern calligraphic styles, digital printing, ornamentation and gilding, in addition to the Khodair Al Borsaidi Award.
Applications for participation in the forum will be accepted until November 20th via the online registration form available on the Cultural Development Fund website.
