Ashghal to organize workshop on wastewater treatment

Doha: Under the patronage of HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP) Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Public Works Authority, Ashghal, is organizing a workshop on the Successful Experiences in Wastewater Treatment and Reuse in the GCC. 
The workshop will be held at the Palazzo Ballroom, Kempinski the Pearl Doha, on Tuesday 3 November 2015 from 8:00 am until 2:45 PM 
The workshop is organized by Ashghal, the GCC General Secretariat, Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) and will be attended by representatives from the GCC. 
The workshop aims at promoting cooperation between the GCC countries in order to unite the Gulf vision and develop joint strategies with respect to treated sewage water, the technologies used and best practices. 
Participants will present workpapers to discuss a number of important topics that are of interest to engineers in various gulf countries. 
The workpapers include the following topics:

  • Regulations of the use of treated sewage water in the GCC
  • Strategic Master Plan for treated sewage water
  • Balancing the use of desalinated water and treated sewage water 
  • The role of laboratories in the quality of treated sewage water
  • The importance of data collection to monitor treated water quality
  • Ashghal regulations to monitor laboratories
  • Forage farming
  • Use of treated sewage water in cooling 
  • Drawing on Kuwait's experience in using treated wastewater in agriculture

The Public Works Authority invites all interested companies and engineers wishing to attend the workshop to register on the authority's website www.ashghal.gov.qa. The deadline for registration is Tuesday 3 November 2015 at 9:00 Am.
