Doha, Qatar: Qatar has driven significant digital growth in Qatar, resulting in the registration of 130 startups, generating over QR178m in revenue, and more than QR316m in raised capital, according to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).

The Ministry, on its X platform, stated that this has signaled a major leap forward in creating 1,485 local jobs by supporting tech-driven entrepreneurship.

The latest data underscores a thriving digital ecosystem driven by key integrated initiatives including the TASMU Accelerator, the Digital Incubation Center, the Scale Now Program, and SME GO DIGITAL.

These interconnected platforms ensure that entrepreneurs receive comprehensive support at every stage of development, systematically transforming raw creative concepts into sustainable corporate realities that actively diversify the national economy away from traditional hydrocarbon reliance.

Focusing on early-stage ideas, the Digital Incubation Center has incubated 411 startups and supported 1,078 entrepreneurs, including 167 Qatari entrepreneurs and 256 female entrepreneurs, of whom 56 are Qatar nationals.

The Ministry also noted that TASMU Accelerator has firmly established Qatar as a global hub for high-growth tech innovation. Startups from 78 countries applied to join the accelerator, resulting in 45 startups successfully establishing their operations locally in Qatar. Backed by over 3,000 hours of mentorship, workshops, and specialised training, these businesses have achieved a massive collective valuation of QR10.2bn.

Additionally, the platform generated QR1.6 bn in sales and raised QR1bn in funding since inception, demonstrating immense commercial impact, robust investor confidence, and Qatar’s growing appeal as a premium destination for international tech talent looking to scale operations across the wider region.

On the regional and global stage, the Scale Now Program continues to support companies expanding across borders. The initiative has received 276 applications and supported 41 companies to date, with 12 currently moving through Cycle 4, while successfully facilitating over QR52m in funding.

Meanwhile, the SME GO DIGITAL programme has empowered the local business community by assessing 220 small and medium enterprises and providing them with tailored digital transformation plans.

This localised effort has been driven by 26 awareness sessions, 108 business-matching sessions, and the onboarding of 61 digital service providers, culminating in 30 signed agreements between businesses and technology solution providers.

MCIT added, “These achievements reflect Qatar’s commitment and support for entrepreneurs in creating an integrated digital environment that enables innovation and drives growth, and builds a knowledge-based economy.”
